Safari 4 "Favorites"

Am I alone in thinking that the new "Favorites" tab (in Safari 4) is not only useless, but a real waste? I already HAVE my favorite URLs shown in my Bookmarks Bar and removed the default 'favorites' (via Safari preferences) as rapidly as possible.

Preferences -> Bookmarks -> Uncheck "Include Top Sites" :)

Just more eye candy. Apple gets more like Microsoft with every release. Installation for stuff like this should be optional

The majority of people in my company who dislike it are long time Safari
users. The folks coming from other browsers tend to think it's pretty cool,
and use it a lot.

So don't use it. Turn it off in preferences (by selecting something
else for each case where it appears.
Preferences --> General
   Open new windows with: (which I have changed)
   Open new tabs with: (which I haven't yet changed)

WIth both settings set to something else, I doubt there is any extra
work going on, since the history will be kept anyhow.

You can also control how many pages appear (6, 12, or 24), and pin
pages to Top Sites (which some people say doesn't always work). Those
controls are behind the Edit button at the bottom left of the window.

There are a times I visit a particular site over and over for a few days, and it's quickly saved in top sites screen. I may not remember the URL, but I do remember what the page looks like.
