Word 12.1.9 upgrade

Has anyone else found problems with pagination of longer documents since installing the 12.1.9 updater to Word? The box to 'not show page number on the first page' does not appear to work and when I delete the page number in the footer on the first page, I find it also deletes the page number on page 5 (but not page 2-4 or subsequent pages through 80).
