Internet books by TidBITS Authors: Eudora for Windows and Macintosh: Visual QuickStart Guide - by TidBITS/NetBITS Publisher Adam C. Engst. Using the highly regarded visual learning style of Peachpit Press's Visual QuickStart Guides, I tell you about Eudora using simple, step-by-step instructions. Tasks are broken down so the instructions and screenshots that lead you through take up no more than a single page each. I cover the latest 3.x versions of Eudora Light and Eudora Pro for both Macintosh and Windows, making clear which features exist only in some versions. The step-by-step style is good both for beginners and those who just want a quick answer, and more experienced Eudora users will appreciate the reminders of Eudora's many keyboard shortcuts (I can't remember all of them, either) and hidden features (did you know that Eudora has a built-in glossary feature for inserting text into a message?). Ever had trouble finding a message you've received? Confused by Eudora's myriad of settings? Unaware that you can configure Eudora's toolbar? This book answers questions about those topics and more. [ACE] Getting Hits: The Definitive Guide to Promoting Your Website - by Don Sellers (with two chapters by our Managing Editor Jeff Carlson). Everyone wants to attract visitors to Web sites. This book shows you how and is particularly strong in explaining how to create pages that list nicely in search engines. The book covers other issues as well, such as creating publicity through links and on newsgroups (without offending those who regularly post there). [JLC] Internet Starter Kit for Macintosh, Fourth Edition - by TidBITS Publisher Adam C. Engst. This book, the last and best of Adam's Internet Starter Kit series, talks about how to get online and what to do once you're there. Although it was published in 1996, the book is still current enough to have a lot of relevent and useful material. Adam wrote more about what's in this book in TidBITS-342. [TJE] The Official AT&T WorldNet Web Discovery Guide, by TidBITS Publisher Adam C. Engst. This book brings you Adam's survey of how to use the Web in real life, along with basic information about how to use the Internet and the Web more effectively. It also comes with a CD containing software specific to using AT&T as an Internet service provider. Adam had more to say about this book in TidBITS-395. [TJE] More Internet books: Home Sweet Home Page - by Robin Williams. This book gently and simply introduces readers to the concepts behind creating a Web site, with an emphasis on sites for families. Tonya reviewed this book in TidBITS-354. Robin has also completed Home Sweet Home Page and the Kitchen Sink, which is much like Home Sweet Home Page, only with a CD-ROM. [TJE] HTML for the World Wide Web Visual Quickstart Guide, by Elizabeth Castro. I own many HTML books, but this is the one I use regularly. It's the most thorough, accurate, and consistent that I've encountered, and a great way to quickly look up HTML syntax and function.
